Cambodia, Paris, Antarctica, Nepal, Scotland, London, the bottom of the sea — these are but a few of the locations visited by our eponymous explorer, Lara Croft. Jumping onto the gaming scene in October 1996, the Tomb Raider franchise, and its famous heroine, became known for globe-trotting adventures into all manner of exotic locales.

I’m Josh Clayton — travel enthusiast, gamer, and writer who started playing Tomb Raider in 1997, and has been continually inspired to visit the franchise’s locations in real life — from the canals of Venice to the pyramids of Giza to the front door of Angkor Wat.

But I’m not the only one.

This site draws on the expertise of the Tomb Raider community — and its globetrotting fans — to share our experiences, travel tips, and must-see’s for those places featured in the Tomb Raider franchise, and help each other explore the real-life locations that inspired our favourite levels.
